Tom Wirth is responsible for NAGRA’s Sales & Services operations in the Americas and leads a team that develops middleware set-top box products for the Americas market. Prior to this, Tom ran NAGRA’s sales organization for North and Latin America. Previously, Tom was General Manager of Lysis’ US operations and head of the worldwide sales and marketing group for the Swiss software provider of pay-per-view, video-on-demand, electronic program guides and content rights management back-office solutions. Lysis was acquired by NAGRA in 2001. Prior to Lysis, Tom ran Scientific Atlanta’s worldwide group in charge of selling digital encoding equipment (PowerVu) and digital satellite receivers to cable operators, satellite operators and cable programmers. Other positions at Scientific Atlanta included business development for direct-to-home networks and managing sales for media accounts. He was also involved in sales, systems engineering, and product management for voice and data satellite networks during his nine years at Scientific-Atlanta. Tom has more than 20 years of experience in the telecommunications industry including positions at GTE Spacenet and Comsearch. He has an MBA from Virginia Tech University and holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of North Carolina, Charlotte.
